A warm welcome to all our visitors
Central Methodist Church is located close to Hyde town centre. We seek to be a warm hearted community open to all who want to explore our faith that the Love of God is supremely revealed in Jesus Christ.
People who attend services vary in age from young babies to those in their 90s, with a wide mix of ages in between. We have a very lively Junior Church, known as the J-Team (Jesus Team).
A Parents and Tots group meets on a Monday morning for pre-school children, many of whom are not part of the worshipping congregation. The evening Church Fellowship provides a meeting place for mostly older members, many of whom live alone and find it a great support. Scouts and Guides, along with their junior branches also meet here. Members of the church participate from time to time in a 'day for others' and other Circuit events for both fellowship, social concerns and spiritual development.
Our Minister is Rev. David Hardman.
The church stands on a site between Crook Street and Norfolk Street. These roads are one-way from Union Street, opposite the library. The entrance nearest the sanctuary is on Norfolk Street and is usually open only on Sunday. The Crook Street entrance is used on weekdays. The sanctuary was built in 1995. The ancillary rooms consist of a large hall and two rooms of different sizes, plus a vestry. The building is wheelchair accessible. Parking is limited, but there are public car parks close by.
